Hi everybody! My name is Jessica and I am just your average
wife, mom and new home owner. I lead quiet a busy life since my daughter was
born 7 months ago and we purchased our home just one month ago. My husband is a
real estate agent and has a schedule that is anything but ordinary. Because of
this neither is mine. We do all we can to spend time together and sometimes
that means we don’t eat dinner until 8 at night just so we can have a meal
together. But I will get to that later.
Before I had my daughter my husband and I were active,
especially in the summer. I am not a big
fan of snow but in the summer we tried to be outside engaged in some outdoor
activity daily. We mountain biked snow basin, hiked wheeler canyon and road our
bikes around our neighborhood nightly. Anyone would think by our level of
activity that we were in awesome shape. This was not the case.
My husband and I both gained a bit of weight. I gained 10
lbs since our wedding and 20 lbs since we met. I wasn't too alarmed because I
still felt I was in decent shape. I should have been more conscious of my
health since I would be pregnant soon.

My husband and I were very fortunate to get pregnant quickly
with our daughter. It seems like we thought baby and next thing you know, I was
growing the little babe. I had a very healthy pregnancy and was able to stay
fairly active throughout with walks with my fellow pregnant friends and the
occasional hike (no mountain biking for me for a little while). I had planned
on eating well but with pregnancy cravings, that plan quickly died.
I gained a total of 44 lbs by the end of my pregnancy. Due
to a long labor of 14 hours, my daughter Sophie and I were required to stay in
the hospital for 2 extra days where we both experienced no complications. By the
time I got home I had lost 24 lbs and had 20 to go.

As we are approaching our 3rd anniversary on the
30th, I have continued down my unhealthy lifestyle, being less
active and eating worse and worse. I have only lost one more lb and have 19 lbs
to go just to get to pre baby weight. From there I would really like to lose 10
more. I am ready to get back to my healthy lifestyle. Now!
